Missing Content, get it added to your website.

12. Missing Content

Whatever content you have produced, whether it’s a blog post, an image, a website or a video, get it on your website and don’t be afraid to hit the publish button.

Hi everyone, Robert Haylor here, I’ve just looked out the window and once again we’re experiencing some of the wet stuff, rain. I think the UK must hold the record for the worst weather in the whole world. Roll on those longer days and Summer evenings I say.

After last nights post talking about CRM’s and their importance for growing businesses.  I’d like to now swing it back to marketing in the form of content.

Content is king

Regardless of what anyone says, regardless of whatever new technological advancement that takes place.  Content will always be king.

Now today, a lot of us will know that not all content is created equal. Some of us are already using AI to create content for us, and I do think there is a place for that.

However, nothing helps a website more than content that is original, concise and helps your audience solve a problem or delivers value to them.

Social networks, such as LinkedIn even place a higher emphasis on the use of original content within its algorithm.

Missing content, missing opportunities

So if you created a video that’s been sat on your desktop or on your website that hasn’t quite made it onto YouTube, then now is the time to get that edited and added to your YouTube channel.

If your website is missing recent event images, get those uploaded and added to your website and shared on your corporate social media.

The point is, a website that is missing content isn’t operating at its full potential.  It’s a bit like putting half a tank of petrol in your car when you know the journey is going to be longer than the fuel you have.

Missing content also means you’re likely to miss opportunities, a video or image that is on your computer is no good if no one sees it.

So too is true if you have an amazing website.  It’s useless if no one sees it.

What I’ve found

While working on this series, my mentor’s advice—’get your website looking the best it can’—kept ringing in my ears.

Inspired by that, I’ve been tweaking the agencies website content and analysing Google Search Console to optimise performance.

I even stumbled upon an old webinar I hosted that’s not on my agency’s YouTube channel yet.

Realising the potential of this unused content has been eye-opening. It’s a reminder that every piece of content deserves a platform.

Key takeaways

  1. Add all content to your website
  2. Video content – get it onto YouTube and then embed it into your website
  3. Use small bits of that video to create Shorts and Reels as well as imagery
