Domain Clear Out June 2022 Update

Second major domain update for 2022. Work has continued on stripping out those domain names no longer needed.

Back in April over 30 domain names were removed from the pool. My advice to anyone who is holding onto domains that are not bringing you any kind of revenue or return on investment is to either sell them or get them off your books.

Shown below is a list of domain names that were cancelled this quarter.

  1. boostacoin.com
  2. boostacoin.co.uk
  3. downswar.co.uk (the very first domain I registered)
  4. ecobabyco.co.uk
  5. e3web.co.uk
  6. weareboostmedia.com
  7. weareboostmedia.co.uk
  8. boostdigital.media

Price Increases

A lot of the domain name providers I purchase from have increased their prices, like a lot of things, it’s all going up. This highlights, for me at least, the importance of letting go of those domain names no longer serving a purpose or providing essential services to the business.

We Are Boost Media

These domains are listed above as set to be cancelled, I rebranded the We Are Boost Media website to Boostdigitalmedia.net, a website which currently has Google Ads installed and is providing very small amounts of daily revenue. The goal will be to grow this revenue in my spare time over the coming months.

Eco Boost

There was only one domain registration this quarter which is shown below:

  1. ecoboost.uk

There is a rough plan for this in my own head.

The Remaining

So these 8 domains combined with the 31 from April mean a total of 39 domain names were removed from the pool bringing the total amount remaining down to 32 domains.

I’ve started compiling what’s happening with these domains, where they are going and whether we can get rid of a few more. Surprisingly a lot of these domain names are simply redirects to current websites following rebrands.

For instance, Boostdigitalmedia.com has 9 domain names pointing to it, each domain was once a brand in its own right and rather than losing the traffic I have simply continued to renew the domain and redirect it traffic.

I’ve been reading various articles on keeping these old domains as not everyone will update their bookmarks etc.

Ideally I’d like to get the numberer of domains that I own down to 20 by the end of 2022, with those 20 domains each
